Why Horses?
Horses are powerful animals. They build relationships with others based upon trust and respect. By riding and working around them our participants learn about compassion, strength and responsibility.

Our Programs
Horseback riding is physical, social and fun. On our way to learning riding techniques and horse care we have many opportunities to learn about ourselves as athletes. We discover independence, build confidence and learn to advocate for ourselves and the animals we care about.
Every riding lesson inquiry starts with one of the following questions:
"I'm interested in learning more about riding lessons, but...
"...my child has special needs."
"...my child doesn't have special needs."
The term "therapeutic riding" refers to the emotional and physical benefits we can all glean from time surrounded by horses. A more current and accurate term would be "adaptive riding" all people benefit from inclusion, personalization, specialized instruction & customizable equipment.
Trinity Farm treats riders with and without special needs as individuals.

Our riders have the option of competing on the Trinity Farm Equestrian Team. Trinity Farm encourages its students to create lasting friendships, experience new challenges and demonstrate the skills they have worked so hard to attain. Team members compete in Special Olympics, dressage shows, obstacle courses, and eventing in the North East Ohio Mini Trial Association.
Group Volunteer Events
Volunteer with your business, school, or service group! Fence painting and other projects are always happening at the farm. Come get your hands dirty and know that you and your friends made a difference! (Volunteers that are minors must have a parent or guardian volunteer along side them.)
Volunteers
Volunteers dedicate their time to improving the experience at Trinity Farm for our riders. Community volunteers must be 16 years of age or older or attend with a guardian.
Trinity Farm riders are also volunteers. We have training classes and volunteer opportunities for all ages and abilities. Everyone can help.
Educational Days at Trinity Farm are a time for students of all abilities to deepen their understanding of horse care, and make new friends. Topics include veterinary care, dentistry, farrier visits and more!
Instructors
Trinity Farm's caring and talented Instructors are certified by PATH International, an organization that prides its self in being the leader of safety in equine assisted activities and therapeutic riding across the globe. All instructors are also certified as Coaches by Special Olympics Ohio and by the Red Cross in CPR & First Aid.
Trinity Farm offers a variety of services for active and retired military. Operation SERVE is a great stepping stone that can lead to volunteer opportunities as well as adaptive riding!
Our historic farm is over 50 years old! Our nonprofit organization purchased the farm to fulfill our mission in 2010.

Every Trinity Farm rider is a member of the Equestrian Team.
We practice, work hard and have fun together!
Some team members choose to compete at home horseshows, some choose to travel to compete, some choose to skip the shows, but ALL of them enjoy a network of friends and learning opportunities. Ribbons & medals are fun, but the true success is shown outside of the arena. Participants have demonstrated improvement in their school work, growth in relationships, development of social skills and they glow with pride in their accomplishments.
Veteran Programs
Trinity Farm offers a variety of programs for veterans.
Sponsored by the Portage Foundation & the John and Elise Joy Fund!
